The days may be lengthening, but winter is still very much with us. This amulet will help protect you against the cold-from the elements or from cold-hearted people. You'll need a small square of red cotton fabric, some string to tie it shut, a pinch of salt, a pinch of sage, a pinch of juniper, and a pinch of garlic. Do this at the dark of the moon, if possible. Add the four ingredients to the center of the cloth, and tie it closed. As you do so, say these words:
"Salt and juniper, Garlic and sage, Protect my journey Against all rage." Make one of these every year on February 1st to help protect your home. You can also place one in your vehicle for traveling in bad weather. An amulet carried in your purse or pocket works also to help you stay sure-footed, either physically or metaphorically. |
