Llewellyn Worldwide stands together with all those who work tirelessly to enact the changes needed to eradicate racial injustice, systemic racism, and the erasure of marginalized voices here in our hometown of Minneapolis-St. Paul, across the country, and around the world. We are, as we have always been for our 120-plus years, deeply committed to elevating a diversity of voices and to act as a conduit reaching and teaching their respective audiences. We stand with our employees and authors, our local community, and our readers, who are united in the effort to build and sustain a more inclusive world.
However, words are not enough, and we are always looking at what we can do better as a company. Our actions toward change include publishing voices that reflect the diversity of our world, including those written by and for historically underrepresented/marginalized voices; prioritizing own voices reviewers and influencers whenever possible; and making donations to local and national organizations such as the NAACP, We Love Lake Street, and The Hamline-Midway Coalition. We hope that our small steps for change join with many others to create a large and lasting global footprint for generations to come.
We want to ensure that all of our readers, authors, and employees, no matter their gender identity or sexual preference, racial or ethnic identity, disability status, religious affiliation, or any other identifying factor, find a welcome home in our books, decks, website, and company.
