Good spell work begins with personal preparation, and when casting protective spells, this is particularly important. Work at the Dark Moon and, if possible, when you have just finished your menses. Shower with frankincense soap (for blessing and purification); after rinsing, dip under the water three times, each time incanting, noli me tangere ("Let nothing touch me" or "Do not interfere"). Dry with a clean towel and don clean ritual garb or clothes. Light a black candle and place a piece of obsidian (for protection) in front of it. Sit quietly before the candle and stone as you ground and center. Cast a bubble shield, imagining a clear protective "shell" surrounding you two or three feet out from your body. Hold the shield in place as you once again repeat noli me tangere. Release the shield, extinguish the candle, and keep the stone with you as you emerge from the spell, protected. |
