Spell: Lemuria

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

This is one of three days the ancient Romans practiced a ritual of exorcism to dispel the lemurs, ghosts of the restless dead. If anyone had these spirits lurking in their homes, they would lure them out by leaving a trail of black beans, throwing them over their shoulder without looking back. This should be done at midnight. Some say the homeowner should be barefoot while doing this; others say he should spit black beans from his mouth, and some say the person should walk backward. Mondays are good days for practicing magic of hearth and home, so perform a cleansing ritual for protection and to clear away negative energy.
Place nine black beans on the floor in your home, leading out a doorway. As you position each bean, say:
Beans of nine, this home is mine.
Sweep the beans out with a broom, and then wash your hands.
