Spell: The Rite of Februa

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Color of the day: Coral
Incense of the day: Ylang-ylang

February honors the ancient festival of purification called Februa. Use this day to cleanse your altar, ceremonial tools, sacred space, and self. Charge your stones and crystals in a solution containing the essence of the sea mothers: one-half cup of sea salt dissolved in a bucket of water. Burn old culinary herbs and botanicals, such as corn or gourds, from your altar in an outdoor chimena or barbeque grill. Cleanse your home with a bucket of spring water to which you've added one-half cup orange flower water, a tablespoon of lemongrass, and the juice of a lemon. Run a bath. Add one cup of full-fat cow's, goat's, or almond milk. Stand up in the tub, and pour the milk bath over your body as you recite:

White as snow,
Fresh as dew
Cleanse, strengthen, and banish evil,
My soul, please renew
‘Tis the time of Februa
We know what we must do.
