Now we begin to experience the power and the glory of the harvest season. It's the power of a lush, bountiful Earth about to bring forth its abundance. And it's the Goddess—the Great Mother—who provides this abundance for us.

For this ritual, drape your altar in green fabric. Decorate it with symbols of the season. This could be a vase of seasonal flowers or bowls of fresh fruits or vegetables. On your altar, have one glass of red wine or grape juice. Stand before your altar and meditate on the Goddess for a moment. Think about the many civilizations that have worshipped her by many names through the ages. In a gesture of praise, raise your glass and say:

Bringer of the rain,
Mother of the grain,
Mother of every bud, flower, and seed,
Giver of all that we need,
To you I raise a toast with my hand.
Thank you, Great Mother, for the bounty of the land.

End the ritual by drinking your wine/juice.
