| The holidays are over. The boxes, baubles, and ribbons have been put away. On this day of the week dedicated to Mercury, arise early, silence your phone, and leave your headphones at home. Bundle up and go for a walk.
Resist the temptation to speak or talk out loud. If you live in a winter climate, breathe in the crisp January air. If you live in a southern climate, notice the awakening of birds and green trees. Walk softly. Ease your breathing and merge with the natural world. When you feel ready to return home, do so. Once you get home, take a moment to write down any impressions, images, messages, or thoughts that came to you on your walk. Practice and repeat this ritual as necessary. Magick is always afoot, waiting and willing to share with us if we will only take time to listen and be with it. |
