Spell: Turn Your Home Into a Shrine

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Generally defined, a shrine is where a deity lives. You can turn your home into a shrine in which live not only gods and goddesses but also your family and your pets.

Invoke the elemental powers of each direction and ask them to bless your home. Find real, physical symbols. In the east, use symbols of elemental air: birds, bees, etc. Hang pictures on your eastern wall or set little birds or bees on a table or bookcase. In the south, use symbols of elemental fire: the sun, volcanic rocks, red or orange glass or stones, etc. In the west, use symbols of water: shells, mermaids, etc. In the north, use symbols of earth: beautiful rocks, green plants, etc. You can do this for your entire home or for each individual room.

If it's practical, set up a permanent altar in the center of your home. Invoke Hestia and ask her to be present in your home.
