Spell: Garden Blessing

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

When the time comes to plant your garden, a blessing is always appropriate. Whether you grow herbs, flowers, vegetables, fruit, or any combination of these, or you just have a potted plant on your windowsill, take a moment to honor the earth and ask for a successful growing season with healthy plants. This blessing can also be used when planting a tree or shrub.

One way to bless the plants (or seeds) is to sprinkle them with consecrated water. Or you can place a crystal in the soil with the plant- a clear quartz point is an ideal choice. Another option is to smudge the area by burning sage or another type of incense. Whichever method you choose, use this chant and visualize lush, vigorous growth:

"Branches, buds, fruit, and seeds,
Soil, blossoms, vines, and leaves.
Bless these plants and help them grow,
On this garden strength bestow."
