Water is an element of cleansing and purification. When the rain falls, it washes the air and the trees, making the world clean. Muddy water flows into creeks, where dirt settles along banks. Water evaporates from rivers and lakes, rising into the sky. So the clouds form fresh and pure, to shed the rain again.
Energy cycles much the same way. We gather it into magical artifacts to use in spellcraft. It can pick up negativity along the way. A good way to clean crystals, pentacles, and other durable magical items is to set them out in the rain for a few minutes. If it's not raining, you can use collected rainwater to rinse things, or sprinkle them with water. As you do so, say: "Spirit of water, spirit of rains, Clean up this magic, wash away stains. Everything pure and everything clean, All freshened up, ready to be seen." |
