Spell: Home Blessing and Reconsecration

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

On this date in 1891 was the inauguration and blessing of the Basilica of San Sebastian in Manila, Philippines, the only all-steel church in Asia. Take this anniversary as a cue to remember that our homes are also sacred sanctuaries worthy of blessing. Even if you have lived in your home for many years and have already blessed it, a home can never have too many blessings, so enjoy performing a reconsecration! Gather a representation of each element, such as blessed sea-salt water for earth and water, smudge or incense for air and fire, and a bell or rattle for spirit. Make a round through your home with each element, wafting, sprinkling, and ringing/rattling as appropriate. Repeat a simple blessing during the process such as:

"I bless this home as sacred space.
May divine love dwell within this
place."
