Color of the day: Brown
Incense of the day: Neroli June is the marriage month, and the month of the Mead Moon, from which we get the term "honeymoon." (Traditionally, a honey liquor called mead was consumed the night after a wedding). The idea of a sacred marriage comes from medieval alchemy, in the search for the ideal union of opposites. That is, in this system, fire and air (male elements) and earth and water (female) were united to form matter. A ritualized marriage ceremony often means offering a vision of the sacred marriage. In general, you should open your mind and heart to unification and harmony in all aspects of your life. If there are opposing forces or active conflicts manifesting in your life, ask yourself if reconciliation or compromise is possible. By seeing opposing forces for what they are, and giving appropriate consideration to all sides, we gain perspective and learn how to achieve balance and so enjoy the fullness of existence. |
