Spell: Stay at Home Time Spell

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Color of the day: Blue
Incense of the day: Patchouli

In the Gaulish Coligny calendar, this time is marked as Anagantiros, or "stay at home time," because bad weather keeps people in. January's Full Moon is also called the Storm Moon. Try doing a spell now to bless your hearth. If you do not have a fireplace, your stove or kitchen table will do. Light a green candle for abundance and calm energy. Make a small charm bag by taking a square of fabric of about four or five inches, and placing some dried herbs inside it sacred to Hestia, goddess of the hearth. These include rose petals, pennyroyal, acorns, rosemary, cinnamon, and lavender. Tie the bag with a green ribbon. Place it near your hearth, saying:

Goddess Hestia, I honor you with these herbs, and ask you to preside over my hearth and my home, blessing it with good will, abundance, and hospitality from within and without.

On nights when the weather is not too harsh, ask Hestia's help with blessing a small gathering of friends. Have a potluck, a dinner party, or just some pizza and beer.
