Spell: Chase-the-Blues Spell

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

January 19 honors the god Thor who battled the Frost Giants and saved the human race from an eternal winter. This is the time of year when winter's darkness recedes, but winter's cold grows in strength. Ask for Thor's aid as you struggle with low energy, illness, and with depression at this time of year. Adorn your altar with a blue cloth, a blue candle anointed with clove oil, a hammer, and a list of your personal demons of winter. Light the candle and say:

Mighty Thor, to you I pray;
Keep the winter blues away.
Your strength and courage is what I need;
With your aid I will succeed.

Pound your list of winter demons with the hammer.
