In our experience, the night before Samhain is often less busy than the day of the sabbat. Take advantage of this quieter energy by spending time with your beloved dead without worrying about trick-or-treaters or coven experiences. For this spell you will want to spend a few minutes dressing up. This doesn't mean you have to wear your finest clothes, but you should dress in a way that feels special, or in a way in which your beloved dead might best remember you. If your deceased grandma bought you a sweater she absolutely loved, put it on to make her happy! As you get dressed, think of the memories associated with your clothes and the dead you hope to connect with. Once you are dressed up, light a candle and invite your beloved dead to join you. Say their names, feel their energy around you, and share whatever is on your mind with them. The veil between the worlds is thin for only a brief time each year, so what better way to make it special than by dressing up! When your time is done, extinguish your candle and thank your beloved dead for visiting. |
