As we move indoors in the Northern Hemisphere, we can spend more time doing creative activities. I do more collaging, crafting, and knitting in the dark months. Today, set up a small creativity altar. It can be anywhere. Mine is on the shelf near where my boxes and bins of crafty supplies reside. A creativity altar can include craft supplies of paper, ribbons, wool, and beads; bright colors to stimulate and inspire; and clipped pictures of artists or artwork that you love and admire. The colors of green (for new beginnings), red, gold, or silver (for luck and prosperity), and blue (for a zenlike calm) always work for me. You may want to make and place a vision board collage on the altar to anchor and inspire creativity. Through the dark months ahead, let your creativity altar be the gateway to slipping into a timeless state, fully engaged with your artistic desires. |
