Spell: An Appalachian Hickory Tree Protection Spell

In Appalachian folk magic, the wood of the hickory tree is valued for its ability to break curses and bring protection. To repel negative magic, go to a hickory tree during a Full Moon. Announce your intentions to the tree and break off a flexible twig or switch from the tree. If you know who has hexed you, say their name. If the source is unknown, think of your problem. Then bend and twist the switch tightly and say: "As I twist and turn this switch, your power is bound, but I'm free." Place the twisted switch on the ground, then thank the tree. Leave and go directly home. It is done.
