Sometimes there are people in our lives whose main job in life seems be to tell us what to do . . . constantly! I'm not talking about teachers or bosses, whose job it is to do just that, but those people who seem to think we can't think for ourselves. September is a great time to use the abundance of the season to create our own shrunken-head spell! All you need is a ripe, juicy apple and a sharp knife. Carve a face into the apple. As you carve the eyes, say:
These are ______'s eyes. Then the nose, saying: This is _______'s nose. Then carve the mouth, the ears, and even the chin. You get the idea! You don't have to be a great artist to do this sculpture. Place the sculpted apple on a small plate and put it a window that gets the most light. Look closely at the apple and say: Busybodies have no place intruding in my personal space. Find some other to annoy, I'll watch you fade with so much joy. The apple will dry and shrink while still retaining the semblance of a face. Each day you see the "shrinking skull" you'll be reminded to not let this person butt into your personal business. When the spell is complete, toss the apple into a wooded area where it will be a treat for the animals. |
