Spell: Shielding Trigger

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

If you're empathic, it's very easy to feel drained and exhausted after being in a crowd. However, with a little advance preparation, you can protect yourself and your energy levels.
You need to put yourself into a meditative state for this to work. (I use the method described in Laurie Cabot's Power of the Witch.)
Now, begin building your shields, letting your intuition guide you in choosing a form. Mine is a vortex of energy that absorbs stray emotional energy not only from others, but also from me, so I don't project my emotional state on anyone else either. Really focus on the shield, making it as strong as you can. Finally, fix a gesture in your mind as an automatic trigger for pulling those shields up. It could be tugging on your earlobe, crossing your fingers in a special way-anything small and not too obvious. Bring yourself out of the meditative state and it is done. Next time you're in a draining environment, just use your trigger and invoke your shields. Keep in mind that this will get better with practice.
