It's a great day to magically empower a healthy new habit, like getting more sleep, eating more vegetables, or exercising more regularly. (Why wait for New Year's?) First, safely light a red candle and some cinnamon incense. Relax your body and center your mind. Call on a divinity of your choice. Next, in the present tense, write down a desired habit in a journal or notebook, such as "I get at least seven hours of deep sleep per night." Now get creative and write down some fun ways you could immediately support this new habit. Staying with the sleep example, you might think of ways to make your bed more comfortable and your bedroom more restful. Also list adjacent habits that will support your primary habit, such as (in the case of sleep) regular exercise and limiting screen time at night. Now conjure up a sense of excitement for all these positive changes. Thank the divinity, extinguish the candle and incense, and get started on your new habit today. |
