Spell: Herbal Communion

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

All kinds of herbs have their place in witchcraft. Herbs are often used because their spirits are potent and they like to help with magical applications. This spell creates a spiritual connection with an herb. It’s best performed on an empty stomach.

All you need for this spell is an herb. Fresh herbs are better, but dried herbs will do as well. Any herb can be used as long as it’s not poisonous. If you don’t know where to start, try basil, dill, or thyme.

Hold the herb gently in your left palm and say:

Helpful spirit, herbal one,
Share with me your true wisdom.

Start to converse with the herb’s energy. Take a whiff of it, and connect with the aromatics. Take a bite and revel in the taste.

How does the herb make you feel? What messages does the herb’s spirit have for you? Explore these questions in your Book of Shadows, and use the answers in your magic.
