Spell: Apple Peel Divination

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

This time of year is wonderful for divining the future! Try this variation on an American colonial classic, derived from Dutch folklore.

In colonial New England, young girls would peel an apple in one continuous strand, then throw the peel over their shoulder to reveal the initial of their future husband. If you happen to be in the market for a husband, then by all means give it a try!

But this technique can be used to divine other information as well: to reveal other names, significant numbers, or meaningful shapes. Begin by asking the apple a question. Use a sharp knife to peel it in one long piece while concentrating on your request, then toss it over your shoulder to reveal an answer! A peel that lands in a heart or star shape might indicate coming love or excitement. A Y or N could be yes or no. A letter might give a clue to someone who will influence you. Keep an open mind and follow your intuition!
