Spell: International Children's Book Day

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Today is International Children's Book Day. This is a time to celebrate reading in general and children's books in particular. It also meshes well with many Pagan deities such as Seshat, goddess of writing.

Observe this holiday by celebrating books and children. Focus especially on children who rarely get to hear their own stories, such as young Pagans and people from different ethnic groups. Most classic children's literature is very Christian and lacks diversity. So volunteer to do a reading, or donate some children's books with more diverse content. There are many beautiful books about myths from around the world, and a handful of explicitly Pagan ones if you know someplace where those would be welcome.

This holiday doesn't need a lot of fancy spellcasting. Keep the focus on the kids and the books. Just say a little prayer to Seshat or another writing patron when you do your thing.
