Spell: A Bread Spell

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

On this day in Greece, grains are honored. This ancient practice probably began as a ritual to thank the goddess Demeter. Dishes made of grains are prepared in most regions of Greece today, with each area having their own specialty.
This bread spell is appropriate for today. Prepare your favorite bread; it can be from scratch, a mix, or even a frozen loaf of bread. Before baking, brush the shape of a pentagram on the bread using milk. When done, bless the bread. Slice a piece for each family member, and eat mindfully as you think of how grains sustain us.
End by slicing a piece for your home. Tear this slice into four pieces. Place each piece outside your home in all four corners of your property. This way you'll share your thanks and good fortune with the birds and the earth.
