Spell: Bittersweet Blessing

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Today is the birthday of Milton Hershey, a great entrepreneur who made milk chocolate widely available to Americans. Many favorite foods and beverages-including chocolate, but also vanilla and coffee-are actually exotic imports, though today they're commonplace. Now is a good time to honor our ancestors, their delicious discoveries, and the lands of origin. Decorate your altar in brown and white. Add photos of cocoa plants, vanilla orchids, and coffee bushes, plus pictures of people associated with them. For "cakes and ale" choose from milk chocolate truffles, vanilla-flavored white chocolate, chocolate-covered espresso beans, hot chocolate, coffee, etc. Say:
Blessed be the ones who went
before,
And for the future laid
a treasure store.
Blessed be the lands beyond
the seas,
Where marvels grow beneath
the mighty trees.
Blessed be the bitter and the
sweet,
In every corner of the Earth,
a treat.

Eat, drink, and give thanks!
