Spell: Banishing Nightmares Spell

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Color of the day: Lavender
Incense of the day: Daffodil

Little children may have occasional bouts with nightmares-brought on by a scary movie, by a time of stress in the family, or sometimes for reasons that might not be obvious. Constant night terrors should be discussed with a doctor, but for the occasional bad dream a simple meditation can work. Sit with the child in bed and have the child visualize their favorite place. In a "sing-song" way (letting the child choose the tune), say together:

Bad dreams, bad dreams,
You don't scare me!

Talk softly with the child, adding a favorite person, a spirit guide, or pet to the meditation if the child feels more secure with the additions. After a bit, the child should be much calmer and you will find him or her drifting off to a peaceful sleep.
