Spell: Carmentalia Divination

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Color of the day: Gold
Incense of the day: Sage

Today we celebrate the feast day of Carmenta, the ancient Italian goddess of divination. Augury was an ancient method of divination practiced by the Romans, which foretold one's future from the activity of birds. As you prepare your spell, think of a question you wish to pose. Using a wand, describe a circle beginning in the east. Light a candle in each of the four directions. On a square of silk in the middle of your circle, place a small bowl of walnuts and
a vase of bird feathers as an offering to Carmenta. Light incense and say:

Carmenta, all-seeing goddess, let my prayer rise to you on this smoke. Reveal an answer to my query.

Hold the feathers in your left hand and let them drop to the square of silk at your feet. The patterns that the feathers make should point to an answer of some sort.
