Incense of the day: Myrrh Use the backyard grill today to fire up some herbal magic for friends and family. Gather an assortment of summer vegetables in every color. Wash and slice them into bite-size pieces, and place them in a bowl. Drizzle them generously with olive oil and balsamic vinegar (or Italian vinaigrette). Add your choice of herbs: basil, rosemary, dill, mint, oregano. Add plenty of chopped fresh garlic, and stir with magical intention. Cover and marinate one hour. Prepare a heart-shaped foil packet for each person by cutting two eight-inch hearts out of aluminum foil. Spoon a serving of vegetables onto one heart, and cover with the second heart. Crimp and seal all the edges. Grill the packets on a medium-hot grill for twenty minutes, until the veggies are tender. |
