Spell: Spell to Shine Brightly

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Color of the day: Amber
Incense of the day: Hyacinth

Today is the birthday of Edna St. Vincent Millay (18921950), whose famous poem talks of her candle burning at both ends and giving out a lovely light. To shine brightly without burning yourself out, bring together a piece of paper, a pencil, an eraser, and a yellow crayon along with frankincense oil for faith in yourself. Draw a picture of yourself (an outline will do) and draw a heart on the left side of the chest. Write on the figure all the roles, jobs, qualities, and things that you do, corresponding with the appropriate body part. Take a good long look at it. Close your eyes, and anoint yourself with the oil and say:

"Here I am shining bright, how can I best show my light?"

With a deep breath, open your eyes and look at the figure. You will see the light shining behind some words and through others. With the eraser, remove all the words that block the light. With the yellow crayon, color in the light that you see with your spiritual eye. Anoint the picture with the oil and keep it on your altar, thanking the Spirit for your wonderful shining light.
