LLEWELLYN'S SPELL-A-DAY

Spell: Culpeper's Birthday

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Color of the day: Crimson
Incense of the day: Maple

Nicholas Culpeper was a sixteenth-century physician probably best known for his book on herbs and herbal references. While much of his work has been either praised or condemned, he remains a pioneer in the field for his work and his insights into herbal associations and references. Now is a good time to check our herbal cupboard and references. It's time to start to clean out old stock, which usually is burned at Samhain. Take an inventory and order fresh material to replace stale or missing herbs. It's also time to look for new reference material. Spruce up your herbal lore and sharpen your personal craft.
