1.  Divination by observing a string-suspended key, similar to the pendulum.

2.  Divination by means of a key suspended from a thread held between thumb and forefinger—actually a pendulum—lowered into a glass jar. After a question is asked, the key will knock against the glass—one knock for yes, two for no.
