A term used to describe any device that can either overcome or not be affected by gravity. Such a device has numerous potential benefits, ranging from space travel to high-speed rail or even personal transportation devices. Current forms of such devices tend to use high-powered magnets to slightly counter the effects of gravity, however they have limited range. Other, devices that their inventors claim are not affected by gravity, have not been consistently and reliably demonstrated under test conditions.
