Numerology, in addition to assigning three basic number values to the letters of a name, also assigns a birth date to one number, known as the birth number. The birth number reveals influences at birth which will shape the direction your life will take. The birth date is first converted to three basic numbers, one for the month, one for the day, and one for the year. These three dates are then added together and reduced to a single number between 1 and 9.
Let’s continue using Madame Blavatsky as our example and find her birth number. Helena Petrovna Blavatsky was born on August 11 or 12, 1831. (Born near midnight; the day to be used in our calculations can either 11 or 12.) The month, August, is the number 8 (January = 1, December = 12). The day, either 11 or 12, gives us 1 + 1 = 2 or 1 + 2 = 3. The year, 1831, reduces to 1 + 8 + 3 + 1 = 13 = 1 + 3 = 4. Therefore the birth number of Madame Blavatsky is either 8 + 2 + 4 = 14 = 1 + 4 = 5 (using August 11) or 8 + 3 + 4 = 15 = 1 + 5 = 6 (using August 12), either the number 5 or the number 6. |
