The feminine form of Divine energy responsible for the Creation of the Universe, and continuing to express the "Motherhood of God" in contrast to the Christian "Fatherhood of God," i.e. the forms of Spirituality & Compassion vs. Materialism & Passion. It is the active fertilizing , a manifestation of the Feminine creative energy. She is "The Great Divine Mother" in Hinduism, and the active agent of all change. She is Kundalini Shakti, the mysterious psycho spiritual force of liberation. In Shaktism, Shakti is worshiped as the Supreme Being . In Shaivism, She embodies the active feminine energy called Prakriti, Vishnu's female counterpart. She is also seen as the female half of Shiva.

3.  Goddess, particularly the Goddess in the form of energy. It also refers to a goddess in her role as consort to a male deity and hence to a female participant in Tantric sex rituals.
