1. Different levels of grades within spiritual organizations such as magickal lodges or covens. Also used to identify the level that a member of such a group has achieved, such as a first degree, third degree, etc.
2. The division of a circle into 360 equal parts with each one known as a degree. In astrology, this unit of measurement is used to indicate the positions of signs, planets, etc., in a chart.
