LLEWELLYN'S SPELL-A-DAY

Petitioning the Crossroads for Open Doors

Color of the day:  Blue
Incense of the day:  Sage

This crossroads ritual is aimed at opening doors when it seems like there are no options or discernible paths to be seen. You will need:

  • ¼ part whole barley, dried
  • ½ part fennel seeds, dried
  • ½ part juniper berries, dried
  • 1 part rosemary leaves, dried
  • Mortar and pestle
  • Incense charcoal and burner
  • Matches or lighter

Crush and mix together the incense ingredients in a mortar and pestle.

Perform this ritual at night at a four-way crossroads. Light your charcoal and add some of the incense mixture. Face the easternmost road. Waft some of the smoke in that direction. Say:

In the east! A good door opens for me.

Continue clockwise for the three other roads, repeating the phrase but replacing "east"with the direction you're facing. Clockwise directions will be east, south, west, north. When you're back at east, let the incense burn out completely. Leave behind the cool ashes at the center of the crossroads.
