Fairy Lights

Color of the day:  Orange
Incense of the day:  Hyacinth

One of the joyful-and free!- sights of the season is the displays of lights that go up in the month of December. In stores, in streets, or on homes, they illuminate the night with wishes of goodwill and cheer-and they also attract faeries.

Strings of tiny bulbs glitter like stars, glow light the twilight, and shimmer like all the shiny things fairies like. Tonight when you turn on your light display (or consider making a small display for the fae if you don't put lights up), leave out some small seasonal sweets and invoke the fairies to bless your revels and bring luck in the coming year:

"The stars have come to earth,
Come and share our mirth!"

Now clap your hands or tap your foot on the ground three times and then continue:

"Eat, drink, be merry,
Elf, troll, and fairy!
And bestow upon this place
Love, luck, plenty, and peace.
Blessed be!"
