Magical Shawl

Color of the day:  Yellow
Incense of the day:  Bay Laurel

I've found that the right magical adornment helps create magical atmosphere and space. But I like to keep it simple, and a magical shawl is a super way to do that.

Purchase 1 1/2 yards of fabric- your choice of color, texture, and pattern. (Hint: at this pre-Samhain time of year, fabric stores are loaded with materials in magical colors and patterns!)

Drape the fabric around your shoulders and determine the length and width needed to make a pleasant fit. Using scissors, trim the fabric to fit your measurements. Finish the edges by turning and sewing a simple hem, or, if you don't sew, create a hem with iron-on fusible webbing. Even simpler? Use pinking shears to "pink" an edge.

Bless your shawl by placing it over your shoulders and saying:

"May this magical shawl ease my
way into the magical realm."

Charge it on your altar or in sunlight or moonlight for twenty-four hours.

Use your shawl when you read about, study, or work magic. Each time it settles around your shoulders, you'll feel yourself slip into magical space.
