Kitchen Witch's Canning Blessing

Color of the day:  Turquoise
Incense of the day:  Nutmeg

September arrives on golden light. The air is scented with apple and leaves begin to turn. This is the time of year when the song of autumn truly begins to tug at our souls.

During this time, many of us are busily putting up food for the winter. Here is a simple canning blessing to enchant your winter stores. You will need a wooden spoon and some of your preserved food: a couple jars of jam, dried fruit or beans, frozen fruits or vegetables, etc.

Hold the wooden spoon over your newly preserved food, and imagine the warmth and nourishment you are providing for you and your loved ones. Now say:

"Bless all that is created to nourish our bodies.
Bless all that is created to nourish our souls.
Bless all that is created to nourish our minds.
Blessed be."
