Flower Magic

Color of the day:  White
Incense of the day:  Rose

Floralia, the ancient Roman festival dedicated to the goddess Flora, was traditionally held from late April to early May, to celebrate the beauty and usefulness of plants and nature's eternal cycle of growth. What a perfect time to celebrate beauty!

To honor Flora, place a vase of freshly cut flowers on your altar (even better if they are spring flowers in bloom, like daffodils, hyacinths, or tulips). Get some annual flower seeds for summer flowers ( like marigolds, zinnias, calendulas, or cosmos) and plant them in a pot, visualizing bringing beauty and vitality into your life. Water them regularly, keep them in a sunny window, and when the seedlings get two inches high, carefully transplant them outside.

When the flowers bloom, you may choose to enjoy them where they are, or pick a few and enjoy them in a vase. Be sure to put a few on your altar to enhance your magical workings.
