Linga Mudra

Color of the day:  Ivory
Incense of the day:  Lily

The linga mudra activates the masculine principle and reinforces the fire element in the body. (The term linga is Sanskrit for phallus, the male generative organ.) This promotes sexual energy and body heat. Use this mudra to deal with chills from cold weather, to dry out wet illnesses such as colds or coughs, to ease asthma aggravated by weather changes, and to relieve male impotence. The linga mudra also alleviates the kind of depression that brings feelings of lethargy and darkness.
Sit up straight. This mudra requires both hands. Place your palms together. Interlace and close your fingers. Keep your left thumb vertically erect, like a candle flame, and encircle it with the thumb and index finger of your right hand. Concentrate on a feeling of warmth rising straight up through your body, filling you with vigor.
This mudra is better suited to use when needed for a specific complaint, rather than everyday practice.
