August Abundance Spell

Color of the day:  Gold
Incense of the day:  Eucalyptus

The August full moon, the Grain Moon, rises over the horizon tonight and shines with a reddish glow. It rides above a world of late summer bounty. The Grain Moon's spells and rituals should focus on sharing, caring, and giving thanks.
Ideally, this ritual should be worked with a coven or a like-minded friend. Food banks run low at this time of year, so begin a day ahead and tell coven members to bring a nonperishable food item. Include the food items as part of your altar decorations, along with seasonal flowers, a yellow candle, and a dish of cornmeal.
Begin the ritual outside, and have the leader raise the cornmeal silently toward the moon. Pass the dish, and have each member mention something they're grateful for-let each person sprinkle a bit of the cornmeal on the ground. Return to the altar and light the candle.

Together say:

"Thank you, Grain Moon,
for your blessings.
We will share because we care."

The next day, deliver your food to your local food bank.
