Invoking the Blessed Bees

Color of the day:  Topaz
Incense of the day:  Marjoram

You know how Witches are always saying "Blessed be"? Without knowing it, they're invoking our Found Power Animal, a magical insect that I wrote about in my book Finding New Goddesses. The Bees are shining golden insects that live in the Golden Hive and are attended by Melissa, their devoted beekeeper-priestess.
The Bees bring us sweet blessings with their honey, pollen, propolis, and beeswax, and sometimes they use their magic venom as "sting therapy" to teach us a lesson. Both the Blessed Bees and their relations in the mundane world have traditionally been seen as harmonious workers and bearers of peace and fertility. Their relatives include Spelling Bees and Quilting Bees, who bring us the blessings of literacy and homey comfort. Here's the invocation to the Blessed Bees:

"Twinkle, twinkle, Blessed Bees,
As I ask you, grant it please.
Wisdom, health, abundancies -
As I will't, so mote it, Bees".
