Celebrate Astarte

Color of the day:  Blue
Incense of the day:  Sandalwood

Today is thought to be the festival day of Astarte, A Phoenician goddess of sexuality and of war. She is honored with the Festival of Willows. I find this to be highly appropriate, as the willow is associated with the Divine Feminine, the element of water, and has the astrological coreespondence of the Moon. Today, gather some small supple branches from a willow tree and create a garland. Wear the willow in your hair, and meditate on Astarte and get to know this deity. See what she teaches you.

Astarte, ancient goddess, I
call upon you,

I ask you, great Lady, to
please grant me a boon.

By the power of willow and
the waning Moon,

May I be blessed with
enchantement and wisdom
true.

By the waning Moon this
meditation is begun,

May enlightenment, wisdom,
hope, and peace, surely come.
