The Scrying Mirror

Color of the day:  Ivory
Incense of the day:  Rosemary

When we scry, we gaze into a reflective surface and open our "mind's eye," ready to receive information or visions. The scrying mirror is an ancient tool used by many of the old mystery schools. Scrying mirrors can be purchased, but they're simple to make. An easy approach to creating a scrying mirror is with a medium-size photo frame. Clean the glass surface thoroughly and charge the framed glass with the four elements by sprinkling with salt water and passing through the smoke of a burning smudge. Dry carefully, then paint the glass with glossy black paint. Allow to dry well. To charge your mirror, expose it to the light of the Full Moon overnight. Once charged, wrap it in a black cloth. Use it only at night and never let sunlight touch the glass. To use, unwrap and gaze deeply into the mirror. What do you see?
