Catching the Rain

In many parts of the world, autumn brings the replenishing rains after the hot dry summer. Now is a good time to install a rain catchment system. It can be as simple as a single rain barrel connected to a downspout from your existing roof gutters. You can then use stored rainwater for irrigating your garden or lawn. Here is a blessing for your rain barrel:
Save up for a sunny day
The abundance of the rain
That thunderstorms send
my way
For the clouds' loss is my
gain.
Store water like hidden seed
In a barrel fat and round
Fast against a future need –
Then I'll pour it on the
ground.
Store abundance here as well
Gathered from the fertile land
Strengthened by this magic
