Windflowers close their petals and droop their heads at night or in wet weather. The fairies favor windflowers, choosing to curl up and sleep within their closed petals at night. An old proverb says: March windflowers so frail and pure, Keep infection from your door. Gather the first blooms in a square of red cloth and sew the edges together. Sleep with the sachet under your pillow or wear it on your person to ensure good health. You can also plant the red anemones by your front door to guard the house from disease and infection. |
