Seed-Sowing Ritual

March is the traditional month for sowing seeds. Therefore, it is a perfect time to plant the magical seeds of things we would like to see grow in the coming season. Fill a small iron cauldron with soil, and moisten the soil with sacred water. Make three small indentations in the soil. Quiet your mind, and clearly visualize the magical wish you would like to create. Take flower seeds, nuts, beans, or kernels of grain, and breathe your prayers and intentions into them. When you are ready, repeat this traditional spell for consecrating the seed as you plant your wishes:

I sow these seeds
In the name of those
Who give them growth.
Every seed that lay in sleep
Will take root
Deep in the Earth
As the gods of the elements desire.
The plant will come forth With the dew.
It will inhale life
From the wind.
