Today is one of the days of Carmentalia, the festival honoring the Roman goddess Carmenta. Each of us has some spark of creativity within. Some are more aware of it than others, but it is there to be awakened. During this time of the waxing Moon, focus your thoughts on your own creativity. What do you wish to bring forth from within your being? What beauty can the muse awaken in your soul? What inspiration do you seek? When you have meditated on these thoughts for a bit, light a lavender candle and place it before a bowl of clear, fresh water. Settle yourself before the candle and invoke Carmenta with the following chant:

Carmenta, Carmenta,
Goddess so fair,
I invoke of you
Your wisdom to share.
I come to thee,
As have others before,
Seeking your aid,
So my creative visions
May pour-
Flowing forth in the world
Like the waters
Of your spring,
Carmenta, Carmenta,
Please, your guidance bring.

Meditate for a time before the candle and remember to thank Carmenta for her blessings.
