On this day in 1925, Malcolm X was born. Also on this day in 2001, a young Chinese woman was put to death for refusing to be sterilized by authorities. To honor the bravery of these two very different civil rights activists, and to keep the movement for civil rights moving forward throughout the world, take a newspaper and fold it into an airplane. It doesn't have to be fancy or fly very well; the idea is what counts. Charge the little toy with your intent, speaking how important are the rights of individuals in the face of injustices of the world. Sail it into the air and say:

Wind,
Take this plane high,
As a reminder that we
Should always take the high road.
Give this plane movement,
As a reminder for us to grow.

Finally, lay the plane down. As a reminder that we are all one with the Earth, say: "So it is done."
